It's the sound driver. Easy thing to try is disabling music in the game. Also updating your drivers.

I checked and the supplied dll is up to date. The next version is going to use updated libraries, so that might fix the problem if there is a bug there, otherwise I'm out of ideas.

Likely a problem with the game. Can you tell me anything about the crashes? Do you get a pop up saying the imps will deliver a report? Does it crash if you start the game and don't do anything?

    Thanks.

The problem is that some files are needed at compiling that do not exist in the main repository.

Yes, there was one file missing. It's fixed already. Let me know if you have any other problems, and please paste the full error if so.

    Cheers,

I thought I had these issues under control in alpha16. Can you please send a save file to miki@keeperrl.com when that happens? Thanks!

Good point. I think simply letting them be guards would be unbalanced. Maybe they should be neutral by default, but let you pay a regular contribution to have them serve as guards.

I'll update the steamfree version in a couple of days when I fix one more bug, then this will be fixed as well.

Do you have the throne built? Have you discovered any of the tribes? If so, can you check if any have any 'triggers' in the villains tab?

I've fixed the vampire lord bug already, the fix will be out with the next standalone release (in a few days when I fix other bugs).

Yes, please send the save file to miki@keeperrl.com. It's in the game's folder, ending with '.kep'. Thank you.

Btw, I'm guessing this was in the alpha16 testing version?

Thanks for the long laugh  ;D

I remember fixing something like this already (a tribe is revived after being wiped out and a random creature is assigned to be the leader – though I never seen it happen to the player tribe). I hope not, this is an awesome bug  8)

Damn, I need a proper stacktrace to figure out the issue.

You mentioned that you've installed mingw. Can you try running the game under gdb? Just 'gdb keeper.exe' and 'run'. When it crashes, type 'bt'. It might not work if you have 32-bit mingw, in that case I'll send you another zip file 🙂
