To make things easier, I now have a dedicated page for game mechanics (Redesigning the way the game works)
https://keeperrl.com/wiki/index.php?title=Player_requests_for_new_game_mechanics
Please still use the original link for game content (Changing what the game contains).

There may be some overlap.
Hi Owen,
I have split out the links for “Content” that can fit within the existing system and “Game Mechanics”, which are about changing the fundamental design. I think it will be helpful to keep them separate.
This is the front page.

I think you want the links at the bottom.

I was thinking that perhaps instant spell access would be a trait of the warlock character. So if we get warrior keepers they won’t get spells at all. There could be a werewolf keeper character that gets spells but has to learn them like everyone else. His night vision is good though and stealth.

Thanks Corran. Post another one soon ๐
I’m pretty sure she will never join your dungeon. She is always hostile and does not negotiate.
Drop me a mail at keepermanj@Gmail.com
Hi,
Did you get anywhere with this? Would you like any help with it?
Corran’s screen is nice, he has talent.
Maybe there should be a second background screen that shows when you click “play game”?
Don’t worry, we are all getting pretty curious about the next release. I wouldn’t mind getting my hands on Michal’s latest work myself ๐
Michal often makes a development version available in Steam. He said maybe in a couple of weeks. Do you use Steam?
Thanks,
I love playing with ideas. This game is so rich with potential that I can’t help myself. I think it triggers some sort of pleasure centre in my brain somewhere ๐
…
โchargeโ (go forward and attack on sight),
โfollowโ (current behavior) and
โstayโ (stay at the current location)…
This sounds really interesting.
I’d also like to ask for a unit to stay at a fixed position relative to me (provided they are fast enough to keep up). This will let me create a formation for my units. It would use the same User Interface as just telling them to stay at a fixed location but they would also move along with me. (I’d like that flexibility and control without using a formation editor).
I guess you collect enchantment scrolls, retire. Continue to collect. Get first dungeon’s collection. Repeat?
There should be a maximum bonus on items.
There are 2 types of tasks.
1) The sort that imps do (mining, forestry, construction)
2) The sort of activities other creatures do (training, study, sleep)
Could you make it so that I can stop an imp mining or building etc. by choosing his activities?
Currently if I want to stop mining and start cutting trees then I have to micro manage the selected tasks on the map.
