Is wall building a thing?

So I accidentally dug out the wall of my dungeon, and I can't figure out a way to patch it back up.  Not seeing any kind of construct wall options, or magic to summon one, or anything.

I tried a door, but it dosent seem to be working right.  I hover over it and it says “right click to lock” so I right click, but nothing noticeable happens.  Creatures still pass thru it, and it still gives the same message when I hover over it.

No wall building (yet), as this would let you close yourself in and block the enemies.

I'll investigate what's wrong with the door locking. You can also build barricades.
