I received the following report. If you encounter this, please let me know your configuration and when it happens.
With the latest build, however, I'm experiencing a problem I never encountered with build 7. After world generation, my screen seems stuck to the left/western border of the map. Sometimes I can move the area I see up and down with the cursor keys, sometimes it's just stuck there, black. Time is passing, though, and on the world map I can see that my keeper is somewhere out there in the east.
I'm running Windows 8.1 with an AMD Radeon graphics card.
